SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA “YOUNG”

The Symphony Orchestra “Young” is a natural evolution of the learning process defined in the Orchestra Class. Such Orchestra is formed by the students enrolled in all academic courses: Pre-College, Bachelor and Master Programs.

The project, developed by Simone Genuini, and now continued by Rocco Cianciotta, aims to provide students with specific knowledge of orchestra playing, through an academic path which includes sectionals and rehearsals with full orchestra. The orchestra performs a wide repertoire which goes from Baroque to Modern eras.

For such reasons, during the academic year, the Symphony Orchestra “Young”, besides the regular weekly rehearsal schedule, performs an intense concert activity which often requires additional rehearsals. Starting from 2014, the resident conductor of the Symphony Orchestra Young is Rocco Cianciotta, professor of Orchestral Activities.
